Sweet families
I saw Bennett for his one year pictures about half a year ago and see him occasionally in the gym, but it amazed me today how much he had grown and how much he is signing and talking. Kids just grow up so fast!
This little boy’s got so much personality! And he’s your typical toddler: playing with sticks and eating pine cones and fallen apples…
Sweet families
We had an afternoon session scheduled at Cathedral Park today, but the forecast predicted the rain to start around 9 am, so I asked my clients if they could meet me in the morning instead. We went to neighborhood park, then my family’s backyard and once it rained, my studio. I know this is not Cathedral Park, but I love the fall colors and all the leaves make a beautiful backdrop (not looking forward to picking them up though…). Now, it’s pouring and I had to cancel another session. It looks like it might rain for several days now….
Sweet families
Such a beautiful family! I absolutely love so many images from their session yesterday and the pictures all look so different, because of the all the spots at the farm that we used as backdrops. I could spend days photographing out there. Literally…
Seriously, the farm is so beautiful that I went back there today with my own boys (we went on cow train rides, tractor rides, picked some gorgeous pumpkins and played duck races, but I also snuck in some pictures and can’t wait to look at them…)
Of all the places on the Bella Organic Farm, Cedric decided to hang out under the shelf…
Of course, Cedric wanted to fly “Again” and “Again”. I wonder if daddy’s arms were sore the next day…
Two sisters with their kiddos. The kids are having such a great time together and it was clear that they just love being at the farm!
Cedric surely made us all work hard for his photos, but I got so many great images of him (and I am glad I don’t have to choose which ones to print…). There were some games, tricks and bribes involved and it surely was worth it! Towards the end of the session, Cedric’s cousins joined us, and got him a bit more excited about playing and running around with me. That’s when I got this image of him. Such a handsome boy!
Oliver – one year
Oliver had recently turned one so we met for some pictures of him and his parents. This little guy is such a ham and was so much fun to work with! His parents knew how to keep him entertained. He just loved smiling at his daddy when he was in mommy’s arms. It was the cutest thing! Again, we lucked out with the weather and even got to capture a bit of sunshine, which gives the photos this beautiful color and haze. Plus, I loved how color coordinated these family’s outfits were. I am so glad my clients are better at choosing their outfits than I am….
Sell family
Just came back from a fun (and super sunny) photo session at the Rose Garden. I know the Sells through a mutual German friend and had asked if Lara wanted to try out one of my “princess” outfits (which is a maternity dress that I made). Her mom later told me that the princess outfit was the only way they got Lara to agree to the photo session… I am glad she did, because I do sure love how these photos turned out. And it was pretty amazing to see that the roses are still in full bloom at the Rose Garden.
I totally love this mommy daughter image. Maybe some have noticed that I always love black and white edits so much, especially when they show such beautiful connections!
The Sells also came to my house and studio for some more fun shots. This time, their AuPair Kerstin also joined the session.Kerstin is so amazing with kids and has become and invaluable family member (they are even talking about adopting her and I am never sure if it’s a joke or not…). Even my boys, who are usually very shy, had so much fun playing with Kerstin after our session.
Sweet families
I know Lisa through a mutual friend, but had never met the rest of her family. Today I got to meet her two kids and her husband for a gorgeous session at Cooper Mountain (one of my very favorite locations!). Lisa had put together the most fitting outfits for the location! I totally love Juliette’s outfit and her little boots! So adorable. And her name! Priceless! Her and her big brother Andrew were certainly up to something, but it was lots of fun to chase them around and they certainly reminded me of my two own kiddos!
OMG! Look at these eye lashes!
Caption for this one would be “Ups…”. Partners in crime
Totally one of my all time favorites!
Benjamin – one year
Look who turned one already! Happy first birthday, Benjamin! I can’t even say how happy it makes me when families come back to me to photograph their little ones! I photographed Benjamin as newborn last year and now got to take his one year pictures. He’s become such a little ham and it was a great joy to photograph him. His grandparents, his nanny and his dog also joined for the session and his parents had suggested a gorgeous location. We also took a few images at their house and it was the cutest thing how the Polar Bear made him laugh!
Sweet families
This was a very special photo shoot. The kids had gifted their mom a session for mother’s day and they wanted to have it in the home that they grew up in, but are going to sell. Grandma was in town and so was the brother, who currently lives in London. But of course, we can all guess who was the center of attention during the session. Kids bring so much joy to our lives!
The Johnson’s – beach session
I met Leah for a beach session with her family including all grandparents and an exchange student in Oceanside yesterday. When we left Portland, it was cold and rainy, but once at the beach, the sun came out and the weather was perfect. There was also a group of whales hanging out in the bay for a couple of hours! Of course, the kids had lots of other ideas than posing for pictures, most of which involved running away and playing chase. But that didn’t stop us from getting beautiful images!
Maybee family
My friend Gretchen is supermom of four and my coach at the Beaverton FitClub. Her daughter Olivia has already modeled for me in spring (and her pictures are some of my very favorites). Today, I finally got to meet the entire family for a photo session at Cathedral Park. The kids were just so much fun to work with! It was very nice to watch how the three big kids took care of their little sister. Harper is very lucky to have three wonderful bigger siblings. What an amazing gang with lots and lots of love for each other!
Sweet families
I met my dear friends Tine and Sascha with their kids and Sascha’s parents for a photo session in Portland’s famous Rose Garden. This session was so fun and the kids did awesome. Lucy especially enjoyed being my helper and was very excited when I let her take some pictures with my camera. There were some great ones of Tine and Sascha that she took, so I can’t take credit for them . These kids are just too cute! Plus, Lucy has some pretty amazing eyes, which are always fun to photograph!
Lucy took these beautiful pictures of her parents at the end of our session:
Rowan – 1 year session
It was SO MUCH fun this morning to see Rowan and his parents again! Rowan was one of the first newborns that I photographed when I started last year. He has lost all his black hair and turned into such a cheerful wobbler with loads of personality. And he has gotten so big! Here is the full preview:
And here is the link to Rowan’s newborn session: http://www.steffikphotography.com/baby-rowan-newborn-session/
Lavender!
I love photographing at Sherwood Lavender Farm. Such amazing people and such a beautiful location. Erika, the owner, is such a sweat heart. She has been exceptionally nice and welcoming! It has been truly wonderful to have gotten to her and her family! I am looking forward to seeing them all again and I am sure I won’t have to wait for the next lavender season… Here are just a few of my favorite images. Erika actually pressed the shutter on my camera for the amazing image of O’Reilley, the horse, galloping through the lavender. I was running behind him and chasing him
Beckham – 1 year
Beckham just turned one a bit over a month ago and I met him and his parents Tarisha and Richard at Cooper Mountain in the early morning yesterday. Such an handsome little boy and he was so fun to photograph. And his parents did a great job keeping him entertained during the session. What a beautiful family!
Sweet Families
I have gotten to know the Arney’s through a mutual friend a few years ago. I can’t even say enough great things about them. They are such an strong, joyful and loving family! I can feel all the love just when I look at their pictures. We met for family and baby pictures yesterday to document Carl’s arrival. He is already two months old and not a newborn anymore, but I want to congratulate on his arrival! I am so happy that he is here and fills your family’s hearts with joy!
Sweet families
I mostly photograph kids when they are newborn babies and then whit it’s their big fist birthday. In many families, siblings are born when kids are around two to five years old and this is another time when professional photos are being taken. Then, kids graduate from high school and I get to take high school senior photos. But I never get to photograph these in between ages.
BUT, yesterday I had an amazing family session with a child in the early teens. And it was amazing! What a wonderful and fun family and a joy to photograph! This girl is such a free spirit and I think these images capture her great personality perfectly.
Bennett – one year
Today is Bennett’s first birthday! He is such a ham! Here are just a few of my favorites from his one year session. His mama also brought a little cake for a cake smash, which was super cute! And we finished off his session with a bath. We also went to the Tualatin Hills Nature Park for family pictures. I love how all his pictures turned out and had such a hard time narrowing them down …
Happy Birthday, Mister Bennett!
Ashley, Matt and Heartley
Ashley and Matt are High School Sweethearts, who have been together for over 20 years!!! They got married at Jenkins Estate 13 years ago and suggested to meet there for family and maternity pictures. I could not think of a better place! Their daughter Heartley is such a sweet and silly girl and is super excited about her little brother, who will arrive in only a few weeks. I loved taking pictures of this amazing family today, they just radiate love and happiness!
On a side note, Ashley is my coach at the Beaverton Fit Club, so I think of her a lot. Especially when I am having a hard time walking the day after a work out…. But honestly, this lady just rocks!
Annual Cherry Blossom Photo
I met my friends – Aimee and Preston with their sons Dashiell and Abbott – at the waterfront to take photos with the beautiful cherry blossoms as backdrop. We did this last year, too and it is so wonderful to see their kids grow and to document their growth.
Here is last year’s picture. I love to see the difference. The kids have grown so much! And I also love to see the growth in my photography and editing skills…
True lifestyle family session in the village
These guys are moving back to the Netherlands in a few days and wanted to capture some me what a typical day looked like for them in Portland and their neighborhood Multnomah Village without much posing for photos. I came to their house first before we went outside and stopped at a few of their favorite places including their neighborhood park, coffee shop and toy store. It was a bit different from most of my typical sessions, but super fun and I think a great way to remember their time here. I absolutely love how these images turned out and would be excited to offer more of these sessions!
Greenhunt Family Session
I first met this family when our “older” boys were in the same room at their daycare. We were expecting a second boy around the same time. It has been great to see our kids grow up and their and our friendships grow. Today, I met Aimee, Preston, Dashiell and Abbott for a photo session in Washington Park and it was fun to chase the boys around! They had such a great time being silly!
Samara – Family
The Wallisch family
We have spent all our Thanksgivings in Portland with our wonderful friends Michael, Antonie and their son Nick. Nick was one of Jasper’s (our son) first friends and it is especially amazing to see their friendship grow. This year, we all went to the Longbeach Peninsula in Washington for a rainy and cold, but fun weekend. We also snug in a bit of time for a fast family photo shoot and some photos of Nick. He was so much fun to chase around in the dunes and I am sure his grandparents will love the photos for Christmas! I also included my own son’s favorite photo from the trip in the preview. Guess which one that might be
Henry – Family
Henry just turned one and I got to take some pictures of him and his family. I first came to their home for some indoor photos before we went to a park for some more family and fall photos. Henry was all into exploring, especially when we were at the park and it soon became clear that he was more into rocks, sticks and leaves than interacting with me and my camera. Just like a typical toddler… His pictures turned out great and really show his personality. He’s such a cutie!
Jill – Family
Alessandra – 6 months session
I had met this wonderful family when I took Alessandra’s newborn pictures and today I got to take her 6 months photos. Of course, we also took pictures with big sister Valentina and the entire family. It is amazing to see the girls grow! These two are so adorable and we had such a fun photo shoot. I am already excited that I’ll also get to take Alessandra’s one year photos – which will also be Veronica and Larry’s anniversary and birthday photos….
Baby Lovisa – family session
This sweet family organized a family reunion to celebrate some big birthdays. At the same time, Jenny was expecting a baby in a few days. Well, Lovisa did not want to miss the party and decided to come a few days early. I am glad she did, so I got to capture some photos with her and her family that literally flew in from around the world.
Maddi – graduation and family photos
I got to take photos of my sweet neighbors today. Maddi just graduated from U of O, so we took some photos of her with her graduation cap. Congratulations to Maddi and to her very proud parents!! We also took family photos and, of course, we included their super sweet and handsome dog Russell. And I can’t get over how beautiful and stunning Maddi looks! Such a beautiful and loving family! I am so lucky to have such awesome neighbors.
Family session – Christina and family
I met this beautiful mommy and her two wonderful kids for a family photo session in the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Bailey’s daddy and grandma also joined us for the session. I just can’t get over the cuteness of these two kids! Brock has the most amazing eye lashes I have ever seen. And such a smirky smile – I love it. Bailey, who had just turned four months, was just watching what her brother was up to during our session. Those two will be trouble! Cute trouble! Here are just some of my favorite shots from this session.
Shannon and kids – family session
I met my friend Shannon when I first moved to Portland and my older son was just nine months old. Shannon had her son Matthew with her, who is about the same age as Jasper, and Matthew’s older sister, Elizabeth. In the meantime, I had another boy and Shannon has had twin girls! She met me with her four kids for some photos in Portland’s Rose Garden. Shannon’s big girl Elizabeth was the perfect model and did such a great job posing for me. Matthew and the twins were more into playing than photos, but with some work, we were able to capture great expressions of all of them. Love these smiles and how all the different personalities are captured! And look at those gorgeous eyes! I love these eyes! All of them!
Ashlyn and her kids – Rose Garden
I went to look at the Rose Garden today to find great spots for photos. My friend Ashlyn met me there with her boys and I got to take some photos of this beautiful family. Aren’t they gorgeous!?! The Rose Garden will be such a great spot for Mini Sessions, which I will offer June 21, 22 and 24. Contact me if you are interested in Mini Sessions at the Rose Garden.
Family session – Tualatin Hills NP
I meet Leslee, Chris, Ben and Jula to take their family photos in Beaverton by the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. This wonderful family lives in my neighborhood and Jula is a foreign exchange student from Germany and has been staying with them for almost a year now. Her year here in Oregon is coming to an end and she will surely be missed!!! She’s had such great luck to live with such amazing people!!! Monty also joined the session to complete the family and was pretty excited about the event happening!
I have such wonderful neighbors! Here just a few of my favorite photos:
Elina – newborn session
I had the pleasure to meet baby Elina today. She was born 10 days ago and almost slept through her entire photo session. Big brother Eden was so sweet with his little sister and the parents were already very comfortable with their two kids and did a great shot keeping everybody happy and entertained the entire time. What a beautiful family!
Alessandra – newborn session
Veronica and Larry welcomed baby Alessandra into this world about two weeks ago and invited me to their house to shoot newborn and family pictures. Big sister Valentina and the grandparents also joined for a few shots. Here are just a few of my favorites from today. Aren’t the girls simply adorable! I love how these photos turned out.
Aimee, Preston, Dashiell and Abbott
The cherries are at full bloom now at the Portland waterfront, which makes an amazing backdrop for pictures. My friends met me for a few family photos today. What a great idea! The weather was beautiful and it looks like it was the last day of a sunny week. So glad we got to capture the flowers before they were gone. Here are my friends Preston and Aimee with their sons, Dashiell and Abbott. Such a beautiful family!
Ashlyn, Patrick, Ronan and Cayden
I met my friends Ashlyn and Patrick with their sons in Gabriel Park today for some fall photos. Cayden is almost 5 months old now while Ronan is 30 months. Ronan did great and I just love Cayden’s serious face in most shots. I also got a few smiles and we can spot Cayden’s teeth already! What a beautiful photo shooting with a beautiful and loving family!
Abbott and family
I took some photos of Abbott, while our friends Aimee and Preston came over to play with their sons. Abbott was born just a little over two weeks ago. I had the honor to take maternity photos of Aimee just a few weeks ago and it is great to see this beautiful family grow! Dashiell will be a great big brother!
Cayden, Ronan and Ashlyn
My friend Ashlyn came over with her two boys Cayden (2 months) and Ronan (2 years and 2 months). We took some amazing pictures. What a beautiful mommy with her two handsome boys! My boy Jasper goes to the same school as Ronan and joined for a few shots at the end. I just love to see the boys play together.
